Jim Nelson is local singer and songwriter currently living in Menomonie. His music has a folky, country-ish flavor to it, and he covers many popular acoustic artists. In any given show, you might hear songs by John Prine, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Gordon Lightfoot, and many other well-loved singer-songwriters. You also might hear a few original songs, including crowd favorites like, "Hatts Off to Beer" and "Are You a Cheeshead?" Jim has been part of the local music scene for over twenty years, playing in a band called The Cutaways, and playing solo gigs on the side. His music is available on all of the usual streaming platforms.
